Transmission and Driveline Service

Not every shift complaint is a rebuild. Plenty of them are a solenoid, a fluid problem, a mount, or a cooler line — and finding that out first is worth the diagnostic.

What this covers

We diagnose automatic and manual transmission complaints, service fluid and filters to the correct spec, replace clutch assemblies, and handle driveline work: U-joints, carrier bearings, CV axles, and transmission cooler lines. Manual transmission repair in particular is a job a lot of shops no longer take, and we do.

When a unit genuinely is finished, we say so plainly and price the remanufactured replacement against the value of the vehicle. Nobody benefits from a five-thousand-dollar transmission in a truck worth four.

Included

  • Automatic and manual transmission diagnosis
  • Fluid and filter service to manufacturer spec
  • Clutch, flywheel, and slave cylinder replacement
  • U-joints, CV axles, and carrier bearings
  • Transmission and radiator cooler line repair

Serving Spring Hope, Rocky Mount, Nashville, Wilson, Zebulon, Louisburg and 40 more towns.

Symptoms and what they usually mean

None of this replaces a diagnosis, but it tells you how urgent the call is.

Slipping under accelerationRPM climbs, speed does not follow. Fluid level and condition first, then pressure testing.
Harsh or delayed engagementFrequently a solenoid or a valve body issue, and frequently far cheaper than the word 'transmission' suggests.
Vibration that increases with speedDriveline — U-joints, a carrier bearing, or a bent shaft. Not a transmission fault at all.
Grinding into gear on a manualClutch hydraulics or synchros. Getting it looked at early can be the difference between a hydraulic part and a full clutch job.
